Oyster Shooter Sunday!

I think there are two types of people; Sea Food lovers and Die Hard Sea Food lovers.  I would classify myself as a "die hard" and thankfully my bf falls in the same category. Pretty sure you have to be the latter to appreciate raw oyster shooters. CHEERS!

Keeping The Fingers Busy

I am really, really trying to keep my blog pics and sewing projects current. I'm finding that it's almost like a part time job! Oh well, at least it's fun! This is one of my latest pillows: Casa Noir. Now I just need to put together a matching quilt.

A Blanket for Nikki

 So, it's a Friday night and what else to do, but organize picture!!!. I came across some  photos one of my most favorite sewing project. A few months ago I had the privilege of making a blanket for my special gal pal, Nikki. She gave birth to a wonderful baby girl and is gleaming with happiness! I am SO happy for her and was honored to make something so special.

Back in the business of pillow making

Quick Dinner Fixin'

Anyone that has felt like not cooking, this is a good one. It's totally filling, yummy and healthy!

All you need is:

2 apples
Cranberries
Feta Cheese
Bag of Salad Mix
Walnuts
Dressing of Choice

Cooking Directions:
Tell He-Man to fire up the grill and BBQ the chicken. Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix. Add chicken when done! whalla!

Santa Barbara Day Trip

The NM Gang (aka Bill, Michele, and Aunt Libby) and I hit the 405N to a little place around the corner and over the hill. Santa Baaabra. It was my very first time ever and I fell in love. What a hidden gem, no wonder Oprah lives there.

Great Inspiration

I made a last minute trip down to Barnes and Noble today with 30 minutes left of my lunch hour. I spent the first 15 looking for some kind of book that would give me some history or helpful information about textile design. Nothing! I couldn't find anything at all. After walking up and down ....and all around, I finally settled for a book that had a bunch of little patterns that I could play around with. As I'm checking out, I noticed a magazine with Heather Bailey on the Cover, I immediately picked it up! After the first page, that was it! Add this too,.....  Please.

The first article in, Where Women Create: Inspiring Work Spaces of Extraordinary Women, was an article that blew my mind.  Holly Becker is featured in this month’s issue and she talks about her journey to finding her passion. This is kind of silly but, I think this was a God send. This woman, can describe exactly what I am feeling and going through this very moment. I have been so inspired on so many levels and almost feel like I have been given the "go ahead" to pursue my passions in creativity and color. Check her out decor8blog.com.

Sometimes we go through life waiting for success and happiness to knock at our door. If you are waiting for this world to bring you happiness, it may never come. It is our destiny to go out and pursue our dreams!

I truly, truly believe that what you put out to the universe, comes right back to you. If you put out positive....it finds its way back.

Latest Snuggle Blanket.

The pictures aren't the best, but they will have to do for now. I was so excited to make this blanket. I was given the idea to make a Safari inspired blanket for a teen age girl. My first thought was hummmm....how do I make it so that she wouldn't feel like she was dragging a "blankie" around. With some creativity and some shopping around, I was able to find some modern and trendy fabric to work with. I had such a blast putting this together.
